New publication: Is there a ‘post-socialist hipster’?

We are pleased to share another recent publication co-authored by members of our team.

The article “Is there a ‘post-socialist hipster’? Exploring hipsterification in Prague” by Adela (Adél) Stettler (née Petrovic) and Greta Kukeli has been published in Social & Cultural Geography.   In this paper, the authors explore the concept of “hipsterification” in the context of post-socialist Prague, contributing to ongoing debates on urban change, cultural transformations, and the specificities of post-socialist cities. By focusing on local dynamics, the article offers new insights into how global urban trends are shaped by distinct historical and socio-spatial contexts.   Read the article: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14649365.2026.2656348
