Abstrakt/Abstract
The article describes the main applied results of a four-year research project
supported by the Czech Ministry of Culture, which has been realised in cooperation of
geographers, demographers, historians and cartographers. The main objective of the con-
ducted research was to enable cartographic visualisation of historical population data in
Geographic Information System environment. The article offers a description of the main
research outputs of the project, which were focused on the development of demographic,
social and ethnic structure in Prague and Czechia during the 20th century, to specific
audience of historical demographers.
